Google Sheets gets Smart Chips on mobile and offline printing support

While Google has been steadily adding new features (particularly to Google Sheets), the pace of updates increased over the last few days. Just this week, we reported on the newest update in which Google improved its timeline feature for Sheets — a feature that should make it easier for users to stay productive and manage projects. With this addition, new smart chips were also announced for mobile and offline printing support.

You can now add people and files to Google Sheets with smart chips on the web. Starting this week, they’ll function like regular links on mobile, meaning hovercards and context menus will appear when you hover over them.

Offline printing support will work just fine with Google Sheets. If you want to print while you’re disconnected from the internet, just log into your account using Google Chrome on a desktop or laptop. You can also use Emojis or other fonts in your offline print jobs, provided that you make sure your Sheet is set up for offline access beforehand- just go to File > Make available offline.

Google’s new features for Google Workspace, including offline printing and client-side encryption, help create the most powerful suite of business-related apps you could have. The new Smart Canvas features, which enable you to share Google Drive files with an expiration date, are just icing on the cake.
