Google’s iPhone app Inbox by Gmail is a breath of fresh air for casual email users who feel overwhelmed by an influx of information.
Special Features
Inbox by Gmail has a few special features, such as the ability to find travel confirmations and summarize them for you in a way that’s easier to read and understand on a mobile device, where you’re probably only looking for particular key details.
Purchase Summary
Another type of email message that Inbox by Gmail will find and summarize for you are purchases. Here, you can see a summary of a purchase from the Google Play Store.
Menu
From the iPhone app’s menu, other features in Inbox by Gmail become apparent. For example, you can snooze messages from your inbox, making them reappear as new, unread messages at a time you choose.
Bundles
More features that you can glean from the menu are other types of summaries, or Bundles, such as financial information, updates, and promotions.
Reminders
Much like in the revamped Google Calendar iPhone app, the Inbox by Gmail app lets you mix in to-do items with your emails. This screen shows a reminder for a to-do that has been snoozed. Swiping it marks it as completed.
Quick Access
When you tap the button to start a new email, Inbox by Gmail serves up a list of people you email often, as well as reminders, giving you quick access to functions you are most likely to use.
