Google just announced that they’ve acquired an AI avatar startup for $100 million. The company had been competing with TikTok, a hot social media app that Google recently put out of business.

According to TechCrunch, the company has been renamed as FaceMojis and has raised $3 million in funding from a seed round, led by Play Ventures with participation from Twitter and Roosh Ventures.
After Apple created Memoji, Alter was inspired to offer game developers a chance to build avatar systems without plugging in to different networks.
