Google Chrome can now get new dynamic themes from Android

Material You is included in the upcoming stable release of Google Chrome and its default settings. With Material You, your entire phone will be the same color as your wallpaper and matching it won’t be a problem. Soon, Material You will be available on other platforms unless you opt out.

With Chrome Canary’s newest release, version 110, Material Design will be introduced to not only the web browser on Windows, but also the App Store and Mac.

The new update for Material You provides the ability for your PC browser to pick the main colors from any wallpaper and apply them across the whole browser. For example, if you choose a blue-themed wallpaper, then the entire browser will get similar shades of blue.

Take a look below for reference.

If you happen to have the latest version of Chrome Canary, you’ll first need to enable the flag with chrome://flags/#customize-chrome-color-extraction. But since it’s still under development, there is no way for you to turn it off unless it gets added to the beta options.

If you want to use different colors in your address bar and tabs, you’ll need to turn off the “red flag” manually. If you don’t do this, your themes will reappear following every browser restart.

Here’s another example of Material You on Chrome.

There is something new coming along with Chrome Canary, though it is already available in the stable version of Chrome. This new feature should not be long from release.
